PM 02 – Understand and Apply the Principles of Building Information Modeling (BIM)

The purpose of this practical skills module is to provide learners with the opportunity to explore and apply construction techniques through the use of physical models and virtual reality (VR) technology. Learners will engage in the design and construction of simple structures, up to double-storey buildings, using both traditional model-making methods and modern VR tools. The module focuses on enhancing learners’ understanding of building processes, structural integrity, and spatial planning by visualising and interacting through Building Information Management and other models. By completing this module, learners will gain practical experience in creating construction models and using virtual reality to simulate and analyse building designs, preparing them for real-world applications in construction planning and project management.
